
Story of St Bede
Born in 672 CE at Jarrow, at an early age, Bede was entrusted to the care of the abbot of the Monastery of St. Paul, Jarrow where he became a saint and extraordinary scholar.
Bede wrote 45 books, most notably “Ecclesiastical History of the English People,” earning him the title “The Father of English History.” Despite being sought after, Bede remained in his own Monastery until his death in 735 CE.

2013
Catholic Schools Office began a study into the Provision of Secondary Education. St Bede was chosen for the new secondary College after considerable consultation and discernment.

2017
St Bede’s Catholic College reveals its visual identity. College crest, motto, colours and uniform were revealed to students for the first time.

2018
Over 109 students arrive for their first day of school at St Bede’s Catholic College, Chisholm.

Opening of the Dominic Building, Benedict Building and Ngarramalingiil Yarning Circle
