Learning Hub
The College has a contemporary learning hub in the centre of the main building. With a heavy emphasis on digital and contemporary learning, the learning hub replaces the traditional library. It is not a place of silent reading but rather a place where students can access material and interact with their peers and teachers in a way that best addresses their learning needs.
Whereas, novels and some hard copy resources still exist, the Learning Hub integrates the most up-to-date learning technologies and resources to assist students in their learning.
All students at St Bede’s have their own laptop, so the use of predominately digital resources enables students to be provided with the most up-to-date and relevant resources.
The Learning Hub is seen as a place of student engagement and as such students are welcomes before and after school and during their recess and lunch breaks.
During break times students are able to engage in a wide variety of activities:
The Librarian/Learning Hub Coordinator has the key role of positively engaging students in their learning and assisting teachers in the resourcing and teaching in their respective subject areas.
