Lest We Forget

This cross-curricular unit integrates the student’s historical knowledge of Australia’s involvement in WW1 with the study of war poetry. Students explore war and its effects on people, culture and communities. Through the study of poetry and history, students consider the chronology and narrative of the Great War. Students investigate the story of an Australian or an event with an Australian focus that took place during WW1. They creatively present the story by composing a multimodal, digital text which forms part of a Year 9 War Memorial which will be installed at the College and incorporated into ANZAC Day commemorations.
